A link, not an account

The address is long and random, and the page asks search engines to leave it alone. Nothing about it can be guessed from a client's name.

Only what you actually sent

Draft quotes and unissued invoices are not on it, and an invoice counts as sent when the email was accepted for delivery rather than when a button was pressed.

Their language, your currency

The page settles on the client's own language, then your company default, then English — and money is shown in your currency rather than a default one.

Nothing about your payment setup crosses to the browser
The page is told whether a card can be taken and nothing else. Your payment account details never reach it.
Rounding dust does not create a debt
A balance only counts as owed above half a cent, so a rounding remainder never shows a client a Pay button for nothing.
The tax sentence is fixed to the document's date
An invoice explains its tax as at the day it was raised, so a rate change last month cannot re-explain an older bill.
Your tax settings stay yours
The page carries the kind of tax charged and the region assumed. Your rate, your registration and your local-tax preference are not sent.
The rule about what they may see lives in one place
It is decided on our side, once. A second copy of that rule in the browser is the copy that would rot.
