The stage where pipe, wire or duct is run through the framing before anything is closed up. It is normally where an inspection happens, because it is the last moment the work can be seen. The finishing stage that follows — fitting the fixtures, devices and trim — is the second fix, and pricing a job usually means pricing the two separately.
