How it works here

One kind of row, not two

A fixed cost is an ordinary expense marked as overhead and recurring — the same definition the break-even figure already reads. A separate list would let you enter rent twice and raise your own price floor by accident.

The name becomes the heading

A fixed cost called Shop rent gets its own bar in the breakdown, rather than disappearing into a bucket labelled other.

Loans are worked out, not stored

A balance written down is wrong the month after it is written, so what is kept is the principal, the rate and the start date, and the balance is worked out when it is needed.

The specifics

Record what you spend, split what belongs to a job from what belongs to the business.

Weekly, monthly or yearly: One-off is deliberately not offered for a fixed cost. It would be multiplied by nothing and change no figure — a row you can save that does nothing.
More than zero, not merely filled in: A zero fixed cost changes nothing and a negative one would lower your own price floor, so both are refused.
Who entered it is recorded: Stamped as the row is created, so a level that shows somebody only their own entries is something that can be enforced rather than a label on a screen.
Fixed costs are read company-wide: Unlike the expense list, so the breakdown agrees with the total printed beside it.
A job-tagged expense cannot also be overhead: Refused with the reason. They are answers to different questions, and counting it as both would double the money.
