Additional insured
Also called: Named as additional insured
A request to have your customer, or the contractor who hired you, added to your liability policy so that your cover also answers a claim brought against them arising out of your work. It is common on commercial and multi-unit jobs. Agreeing to it in a contract does not make it so — your insurer has to actually endorse the policy, and there may be a fee.
