A seat and a head are not the same thing.
A SEAT is somebody who can originate money — create or change a quote, a job or an invoice. That is not a job title and it is not a row in a table: it is read off the permissions the person actually holds, so an estimator labelled Crew who has been handed quoting powers is a seat, and a lead hand who has not is not. CREW is everybody else — the people in the van who see their schedule, open the job they are driving to, mark it done and log their hours. Crew cost nothing, on every plan, at every size. That is why our headcount does not line up with a per-user price: a twenty-person business is twenty billable logins to a company that charges per login, and two or three seats to us. The saving is real and the reason is boring — we are not selling the people in the van a licence they were never going to open. The cost of it is on the other side of the same sentence: those crew cannot price a job, and if yours need to, they are seats.
